Carnival Open-Heart Automatic Watch, Steel Bracelet

$299.00

An open-heart automatic on a steel bracelet, with a real sapphire crystal, for the price of a nice dinner out.

Why It Stands Out

  • Sapphire crystal at this price is the whole argument for Carnival
  • 10.5 mm thick is genuinely slim for an automatic with an aperture
  • Gold-finished balance wheel visible through the dial at 6
  • Jubilee-style steel bracelet included
  • 50 m water resistance

Fit and Wear

At 41 mm across and 10.5 mm tall it slides under a cuff without fighting it. The white dial and polished bracelet read formal, and the open window at 6 keeps it from looking like every other dress watch. Take it off before the gym. A bracelet and a swinging dumbbell is how crystals get scratched, sapphire or not.

Colin's Take

The open-heart is the cheapest way to make a watch interesting. You cut a window in the dial, you show the balance wheel doing its thing, and suddenly a plain dress watch has something to say. Most brands charge a premium for it. Carnival cuts the window, puts a gold-finished balance behind it, and hangs the whole thing on a jubilee bracelet.
