Fit and Wear

47 mm across and 14 mm tall is a large watch by any measure, and it needs a wrist to match. On a wrist under about 17 cm the lugs will sit at the edges and it will look borrowed. On a bigger wrist it looks exactly as intended. The 24 mm leather strap softens the weight and breaks in over the first few weeks, so give it time before you decide on a hole. On water: the manufacturer-rated 30 m covers ordinary splashes and nothing more. Avoid swimming and showering in it, and do not operate the crown or the chronograph pushers while the watch is wet, because that is how water gets past the seals.

Colin's Take

This is a big, loud watch and I am not going to pretend otherwise. If that is what you came for, it does the job better than most at the price, mainly because the dial stays readable instead of collapsing into decoration. Coffee is the one I would take, because the black case and brown leather give the size somewhere to go, whereas the silver-tone Black version reads as pure size. Skip it entirely if your wrist is slim or if you want a watch that stays quiet, because nothing about 47 mm is quiet.
