FORSINING Roman Skeleton Hand-Wound Watch

$49.99

The FORSINING 160G is a 45 mm hand-wound skeleton watch: a Roman-numeral chapter ring around an open center that leaves the movement on show from both sides. Choose a white or black dial, both on warm brown genuine leather.

Why It Stands Out

  • Hand-wound mechanical movement, no battery and no rotor. You wind it each day yourself, which is either the appeal or the dealbreaker.
  • The skeletonised center is framed by a Roman-numeral chapter ring, so it still reads as a classic watch rather than a novelty.
  • Exhibition caseback shows the same movement from the back, so there is no side of this watch that hides what it is doing.
  • Genuine leather strap in warm brown on both dial colors, which keeps the whole thing looking older than it is.
  • Two dials that go different places: white for the dressier, more traditional read, black for the harder one.

Fit and Wear

45 mm is a big watch, and this one is meant to be noticed. It suits larger wrists and looks out of proportion on slim ones. Hand-wound means a daily habit: a few turns of the crown each morning and it runs. The leather strap and the 30 m rating both point the same direction, which is to keep it out of the water.

Colin's Take

Buy this one for the winding, not in spite of it. A hand-wound movement with no rotor in the way is the only reason you get a view of the whole thing working, front and back, at this price. An automatic hides half of it behind a spinning weight. The trade is that you have to remember it every morning, and if that sounds like a chore rather than a ritual, buy an automatic instead and save yourself the resentment. White dial for the traditional look, black if you want the skeleton work to read as machinery rather than jewellery.
