Why It Stands Out

• 50 grams. A steel watch of the same 46 mm diameter would weigh several times as much, so you get the big display without the wrist ache.

Fit and Wear

46 mm sounds enormous and it does cover a lot of wrist, but at 50 grams it never feels like it. The 255 mm strap leaves plenty of room, so this fits large wrists that most watches give up on. It is a gym, beach and yard-work watch first. If you want the version that looks least like a sports watch, take the black band with the black display.

The 46 mm case sounds huge until you pick it up. The whole watch is 50 grams, so it wears like nothing, and that is the trick with a resin digital: the size buys you a display you can read at a glance without the weight penalty a steel watch of the same diameter would cost you. The manufacturer-rated 5 ATM is the other number that matters, because it means you stop caring what happens to it. Every collection needs a beater and this is ours at the entry price, the one I hand someone who wants a watch they can wear anywhere without a second thought. Skip it if you need something you can wear to dinner, because resin at 46 mm will never read as smart.
