Why almost nobody offers this

Ask a watch manufacturer to build you one watch and you get one of two answers. A number with too many zeros, or a polite no.

The industry runs on minimum orders. A hundred units. Three hundred. Per style. That isn't them being difficult — it's how tooling and dial printing and assembly actually work. One watch is the least efficient thing you can ask a factory to do.

Our watchmaker agreed to do it anyway. We pay more for it. That's the entire reason this page exists.

Three parts of the watch. Two of them are yours.

The top stays ours. The 1GW logo sits at 12 on every watch we make. That's what makes it a One Good Watch — a real automatic, sapphire crystal, hand-assembled, built to a standard we don't move. You're not buying a blank canvas with your name on it. You're buying our watch, made yours.

Your words at 6 o'clock. Right now that line says AUTOMATIC. On your watch it says whatever you want. Love You, Son. A date. A name. Two words somebody needed to hear. One or two short lines — it has to stay readable at actual size. You'll see it every time you check the time.

Your message on the back. The caseback is solid steel, and we engrave it. There's more room here, so this is where the longer thing goes. A full sentence. A date and the occasion. A name. Nobody else ever sees it. That's sort of the point.

Everything else you pick: case family and size, dial color and finish, hand style and color, lume color or none, date or no date, and your strap set.

How it works

1. Order here. Pick your build above.
2. We reach out within one business day to walk through your design.
3. We send you a mockup — a render of your exact watch, on your exact case. Not a sketch.
4. You approve it. Change anything. As many revisions as it reasonably takes — we'd rather you be sure.
5. It gets built by hand, one at a time.
6. We photograph it — a real photo of your finished watch, not a stock image — then it ships.

Plan on about 90 days. Most builds come in faster — we aim for 60 — but we'd rather tell you the honest outside number than the one that sounds good. Buying for a specific date? Give yourself four months and tell us the date up front.

The watch itself

Seiko NH35 automatic movement, 24 jewels, Japanese-made. Proven, serviceable by any watchmaker, no battery to replace. Sapphire crystal. Hand-assembled by a small independent watchmaker. Solid engraved caseback.

What we won't do

• No other brand's marks. Not their logo, not their dial layout, nothing designed to be mistaken for something it isn't. If the point is to fake luxury, the watch is wearing you.
• No claims the watch can't hold. We won't print a depth rating, a certification, or a country of origin that isn't true.
• No dates we can't hit. If your timeline is tight, we'll say so before you pay, not after.
• No restocking. A watch built for one person can't be sold to anybody else. Once it's in production, it's yours. That's what the mockup step is for — we'll take any amount of time there to make sure you're sure.

Questions

What if I don't like the mockup? We change it. You don't pay a second time and you don't move to production until you've approved the design.

Can I put my own logo at 12? Yes, and it costs considerably more — it means printing a bespoke dial for a single watch. Email info@onegoodwatch.co for a quote. If it's for a company or a team, say so; runs get priced differently.

How many characters fit on the dial? One or two short lines, and shorter is better. Send us what you want and we'll show you exactly how it looks on the dial in your mockup, before you pay. If it's too long to look right, we'll tell you and help you cut it.

Is it waterproof? Water resistant, not waterproof — there's a difference and most brands blur it. The exact rating depends on the case you pick and we'll tell you what yours is. Assume rain and hand-washing, not diving, unless we say otherwise.

What if it breaks? One year. Send it back and we'll fix whatever needs fixing.

Can I order more than one? Yes. If it's a few, we'll build them. If it's a team or a company, tell us the number and we'll quote it as a run, which is cheaper per watch than ordering them one at a time.

Do you ship internationally? Not yet — we currently ship within the United States.
