Fit and Wear

40 mm across and 12 mm thick is the size most people actually want: big enough to read without effort, small enough to disappear under a shirt cuff. It works on a slim wrist and on a wide one. I really like this design. A lot. There's something about it. The VH88 is the reason to care beyond the looks. It steps four times a second instead of once, so the seconds hand sweeps the way a mechanical does — you get the motion people actually associate with an expensive watch, without the servicing or the accuracy drift. Buy this one if you want the look of a mechanical and the discipline of a quartz, and you would rather not choose between them.
